What we do
Working anywhere, out of the Covenant of Love
“‘I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” (Jesus in Luke’s Gospel 12,49)
Schoenstatt Fathers are an apostolic institute. We are most widely known for our work with the communities and groups of the Schoenstatt Movement. Throughout the years, we have progressively specialized in youth and family work, as well as in the pastoral work around the Schoenstatt Shrines. Places like Mont Sion Gikungu (Burundi), Tupãrenda (Paraguay) or Querétaro (Mexico) tell a lot about our history and engagement.
But that’s not all. As a worldwide community of priests, we keep trying to discover and develop the talents of each one of our members. This means that many of us are working in spiritual or formation centres, in parishes and also in other services required by the Church.
Geographically speaking, we always go where the Schoenstatt Movement is developing and can use our help – either in the countries where we already have stable house communities, or travelling there on a regular basis. During our formation, we are asked to be prepared to go anywhere in the world and to learn foreign languages.
Schools and social projects have developed with the help of Schoenstatt Fathers in many places of the world since the `90s. We are proud of our diversified commitment.
