Sion Guadalupe Delegation ‘under construction’

From 25 December to 6 January, our Superior General visited our community in Mexico. He was accompanied by Fr Gonzalo Illanes, member of the Pentecost Province Council and Assistant for the Sion Guadalupe Delegation.

The visitation began with the Monterrey filiation, where the María Tierra de Esperanza’ Shrine was recently inaugurated, followed by a meeting with all the members of the Delegation in Querétaro, and then a specific visit to the Fathers of that filiation, who are accompanying the construction of a new Schoenstatt Shrine in the city, next to the Movement’s house.

During the visitation, in addition to personal conversations with each Father and each filiation, Fr. Alexandre was able to experience community life, apostolic initiatives, strategies, and the life currents in the community. He made a pilgrimage on foot to the María Camino al Cielo’ Shrine in Monterrey and celebrated the Eucharist with the numerous pilgrims at the Corazón Fiel de la Iglesia’ Shrine in Querétaro. Finally, he visited the Maravillas de María’ Shrine and the Schoenstatt Family of San Luis Potosí.

To express his vision of the present moment of the Delegation, in his final letter to the Delegation, the Paterfamilias chose a photo taken at the site where the City Shrine of Querétaro is being built. This photo ‘seems very symbolic to me,’ he explains. ‘It speaks of the joy and boldness of building together and, at the same time, of the ability to carry out projects without shrinking back, putting all our efforts into building shrines, houses for the Fathers, houses for the Movement, but above all, building the Schoenstatt Family in these places.’
